Roxx’ Thoughts…

This past weekend has certainly been a whirlwind forNikki Roxx: a transatlantic flight, fighting… and beating… Pippa L’Vinn for the PGWA belt… and then turning right about and flying back home, where she barely has time to unpack before having to fill her suitcase again to go to Mexico!
Luckily, the new champ was able to take a few minutes to speak with LadySports Online about her historic upset of L’Vinn for the title!
Ladies and gentlemen, allow us now to present for the first time anywhere the new PGWA Champion, Nikki Roxx….
“All I had on my mind was to WIN! It usually takes me a few minutes to get the understanding of my opponent’s style. Then I look for holes where I can break down her offense to take the advantage. Pippa didn’t have too many areas that were weak, and it was certainly a very intense match.”
“At the beginning of the match, I was a little uneasy. I had never been in the ring with Pippa and had only seen tapes of her. But I think after she was done playing games, such as when with each top wrist lock I would apply she would grab for the ropes, I was able to give her the challenge she was looking for.”
“We exchanged lots of holds, and it was a very tough match. Since she was as unfamiliar with me as I was with her, we both had good elements of surprise.”
“I think the match turned in my favor during the second fall. I was starting to think I was in a little over my head when Pippa got the first fall. After I got the second fall I regained a bit of confidence. During the third fall it was a little more back and forth, but when she small packaged me off the suplex, I knew I could reverse it a couple times. This threw her off and got her a little dizzy. And then came the pin which shocked everyone…even ME!”
“This win itself means so much to me! I have always had so much respect for the PGWA championship belt. After all, this belt has been worn by so few women over the past 13 years, and all of them terrific wrestlers. It feels good to be in that league with the great history of the PGWA. I have seriously trained for this match, and the win is just unbelievable! All the hard work paid off. If I have one negative thought it would be how embarrassing it would have been if I had traveled so far and then come away empty-handed.”
“I really want to thank the PGWA staff and organization for supporting me. I want to especially thank all of the fans who support me, and are standing behind me. I also want to thank God that I went to ‘Killer’ Kowalski’s for training, because I wouldn’t have known so much grappling without him!”
And thank you, Nikki, for giving the fans in Manchester an epic battle they’ll remember for many years to come. A video of the match will be made available to fans shortly. Keeping watching LadySports Online for details!
