ALL-FEMALE PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING TOURNAMENT TO TAKE PLACE IN
CALIFORNIA ON OCTOBER 29 & 30
WINNER TO BE DETERMINED IN A STEEL CAGE MATCH!
San Francisco, CA — October 10, 2004: The Professional Girl
Wrestling Association (PGWA) has teamed up with All Pro Wrestling
(APW) to bring fans an action-packed weekend of all-female wrestling
on October 29th and October 30th in Hayward, California.
CHICK FIGHT will feature 8 of the top female competitors from around
the world. The finals of the CHICK FIGHT tournament will take place
in a 18 foot high steel cage match on October 30th as part of APW’s
annual “Halloween Hell” show.
Although the PGWA, based in North Carolina, had sponsored several
women’s pro matches in California in years past, this card will be
the organization’s very first full-fledged live event in the Golden
State. The PGWA’s Commissioner, former World Champion Penny Banner,
says that she hopes this will be the league’s first of many visits
to the West Coast. The PGWA has hosted a number of live cards in
the Eastern and Central parts of the United States since 1993.
In announcing the event, APW Commissioner Gabriel Ramirez said that
the APW fans have always been supportive of the women, and he wanted
to reward their support by bringing in some outstanding talent to
compete with such All Pro Wrestling favorites as “Cheerleader”
Melissa and Tiffany. APW brought the wrestling world “King of
Indies” in 2001, the finest 16 man tournament to date, that
catapulted many wrestlers in different directions around the world,
and now APW brings you the first 8 Woman Tournament in California.
Working with the PGWA was the obvious answer in making such an event
a success.
This tournament will be a first-of-it’s-kind in Northern California
and Black Pants, Inc. will be providing full production with the
show available on DVD, VHS and online atLadySports.com. The
video for this historic event will be available through the PGWA’s
website at www.LadySports.com.
More information on this historic event will be released as it is made available on theAPWand PGWA websites.
The PGWA and APW were just informed that Miss Chevous was injured in
an match last weekend, and have replaced her with another Canadian
wrestler, Candice LeRae. No information was given about the nature
of Miss Chevous’s injury other than she would not be able to wrestle
this weekend.
The fighters scheduled for this tournament are as follows:
