LADYSPORTS:When did you first get into the sport?ANSWER:I first started wrestling matches in 1946.
LS:Who trained you?TK:I trained with Billy Wolfe and Mildred Burke at their school in the
beginning of things. When I started my modern-era training, I trained with the Santino
Bros Wrestling academy, The Ballard Brothers, Drake Younger, and Truth Martini.
LS:What was your biggest influence to become a wrestler?TK:Watching wrestling at the carnival when I was young. Sometimes the wrestlers
would challenge someone from the crowd..I saw that and thought to myself “I can do that!”
LS:What other sports do you have an interest in?TK:I like Roller Derby and Baseball. I played for the girls’ All American League
for one season in 1944.
LS:How would you describe yourself in terms of attitude, personality,
likes, dislikes, and strengths?TK:I’m here to wrestle and I don’t like no nonsense in the ring. I do what it
takes to win a match. Sometimes it gets ugly but that’s just the way it is!
LS:What is your most marked characteristic as a wrestler?TK:Everything about me, from the time I come through the curtain until I leave.
I am the fanciest lady wrestler you’ll see anywhere and I take on ALL challengers!
LS:Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most
important in your workout?TK:I wake up around noon and eat a bunch of scrambled eggs. Then I watch
my stories on TV for awhile. After that I do about 80 pushups and then jog out to my mailbox to
check the mail. After that I usually move some furniture around.
Then I do my squats and sit-ups. Then I make dinner and watch ‘Antiques Road Show’.
LS:How would you best describe your ring style?TK:Classic mat wrestling and brawling. I love a good brawl. I grab a
hold and don’t let go!
LS:What moves are you best known for?TK:I got a mean headlock. And a pretty mean belly-to-back Suplex. My most
dangerous moves are my sleeper hold and my iron claw! I’ve taken down even some of the
toughest wrestlers with those moves.
LS:Have you ever been injured in the ring?TK:Yes! It happens unfortunately.
LS:Who have been your toughest opponents?TK:Mae Young, Killem Gillem, and Randi West.
LS:Who are your allies?TK:Anybody that wants to help me win wrestling matches can be my ally.
LS:What has been your most memorable win?TK:My win over the Spider-Lady at Shimmer. I beat her at her own game
and ran her out of town once and for all!
LS:What was your worst loss?TK:Dog collar match at IWA Mid-South against Randi West. I had her down and I took my eye off of
her for ONE second and paid the price!
LS:Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven’t yet?TK:Lufisto. I actually have a whole list.
LS:What type of match do you enjoy the most?TK:Classic catch wrestling and brawling.
LS:What sort of reactions do you get from people when they learn you are a wrestler?TK:Sometimes they don’t believe me, until they see it for themselves.
LS:What is so special about this sport to you?TK:The ring is my second home.
LS:What are your fans like?TK:They are usually nice. Sometimes They yell things. I like it when they
buy my merchandise.
LS:If you had the power, what one thing would you do to improve the sport?TK:Get rid of the trollops that want to prance around half-naked in the ring!
LS:Where have you wrestled, and what titles have you held?TK:I’ve wrestled all across our United States. The last title I held was the U-Pro women’s
championship until I lost it to Heidi Lovelace. Don’t matter. I don’t need no belt to be a
champion!
LS:What are your thoughts on women participating in the sport?TK:We’re here to stay!
LS:What was your most unforgettable moment in the sport?TK:I honestly can’t pick just one.
LS:Any regrets?TK:Not having my NWA World Championship match with Moolah in February 1959.
LS:What would you do if you couldn’t be in wrestling?TK:Roller Derby most likely.
LS:What is your personal motto?TK:’If you can’t beat em in the ring, beat em in the parking lot.’
LS:What would make you most happy in life?TK:Wrestling all over over and making a little money, then going home and doing whatever I want.
LS:Anything else you’d like to add?TK:You can be my friend on Facebook.. Look for me under Kitty Thunders. I’m also on Twitter as @Thunderkitty82.
