On Saturday, January the 21st, the PGWA again
returns to Nashville, working in conjunction with the USWO to present “Fight
Like a Girl”!
The name of the show, of course, is taken from the famous
slogan for breast cancer research, and with good reason…there will be a raffle
of a T-shirt signed by all of the wrestlers (and also worn by each of them for
a special photo shoot earlier in the day), with the proceeds going toward
research. What’s more, a portion of the
sales from downloads and DVDs of the show’s matches will also go to breast
cancer research!
Two of the ladies slated to appear on the card had some
definite words they wanted to share publicly prior to their matches. Abriella of Amazonia, who will be facing Taryn
Shay (who is making her PGWA debut!) growled, “Shay better hope I have a turkey
leg that night, or I’m going to gnaw on her a bit….!”
And Nemesis, who will be defending her PGWA Championship
against Lady JoJo (a.k.a. TNA’s Sojourner Bolt…although longtime PGWA fans know
her simply as Josie), released the following press statement last night:
“Lady JoJo, you were at my very first match at my home
company, and your interference cost me my match! Trust me, Big Mama has not forgotten that event.
I have seen your career from the beginning; I have studied your moves. Certainly,
you are a very capable and worthy opponent, but Big Mama guarantees that MY
PGWA Championship will not be easy to attain! I assure you that my determination to retain
my title far outshines your determination to steal it from me! JoJo, you’d better be ready for the fight of
your life!”
Clearly, adding the talents of Miss Rachel and Mickie
Knuckles, this is going to be one wild night of pro wrestling mayhem!
