If the reign ofNikki Roxxas the PGWA Champion taught us anything, it’s that sometimes, nice girls finish first… if they’re willing
to work, sweat and bleed for success.
From April 23 of 2005 until November 15 of 2008, Nikki wore the belt that had previously graced the waists ofSusan Green,
Judy Martin, Angel ‘Riptide’ Orsini, Lexie Fyfe, Leilani Kai, and Pippa L’Vinn… some heady company, to be sure. But she was
never an odd woman out; she stepped easily into the role of champ, and acquitted herself with both grace and courage against
a wave of opponents.
Some scoffed back in the springtime of ’05 when Nikki decided to challenge Pippa for the belt, and at her own expense flew
across the Atlantic to Britain, where she would face the wily champion on her own home turf. The scoffing ceased when
Roxx scored an upset, yet entirely decisive and irrefutable, win over L’Vinn, and she brought the PGWA title back to America.
And in the three-and-a-half years which followed, Nikki never once shirked from a challenge, never stood down from a dare,
and never gave anything less than 100% of herself in the ring… not only to gain the victory, but also to give the fans the
best possible match they could hope to witness. And in those three-and-a-half years no fan, we dare suspect, was ever
let down by Nikki Roxx.
When she first gained the title, there were cries from some quarters of “Nikki who?” That’s understandable… she was still
relative new to the sport at the time, and had rarely ventured beyond the Northeastern United States to work, save for
trips down to Mexico arranged by the PGWA. But anonymity can’t mask true talent, and it wasn’t long before her abilities
were recognized and hailed across the wrestling spectrum. Today, she is one of the best-known women in the independent
scene… and as “Roxxi Leveaux”, she is also an emerging superstar in TNA.
She should feel no regret in having lost the PGWA belt toTracy Taylor. Nikki, as always, gave a valiant effort. And
success ought not to be gauged by how long a woman holds a title, but rather by what she does with it while she has it.
By that measure, Nikki Roxx fairly defines the very meaning of Success. They ought to put her picture next to the
definition of the word in the dictionary!
Suffice it to say, the Professional Girl Wrestling Association is deeply proud of Nikki’s term as our Champion, as we are
equally proud of our ongoing and continuing relationship with her. PGWA fans have NOT seen the last of Nikki!
And until she steps into our ring again in the not-too-distant future, we wish her only the very best, and we offer
her a heartfelt…THANKS, CHAMP!
