Well, you won’t catch the PGWA forgetting its friends! Indeed, as yet
another year closes and a new one begins, we asked a few of our acquaintances
if they’d like to wish the fans at LadySports Online a Happy New Year, and we
also asked if they had any specific thoughts on or plans for the coming year.
ForPippa L’Vinn, its been a bittersweet year. On the one hand, she emerged in
’05 as a rising promoter in the UK, as well has establishing her own training center.
On the down side, her title reign as the PGWA Champion came to an end this past spring:
“I just wanted to say I hope all the PGWA fans had a great Christmas, and I would like to take
this opportunity to wish them all the very best for 2006.
I hope to return to the USA in 2006, and hopefully try to regain the PGWA Championship belt.
Also my wish for this coming year, is to help Ladies Wrestling
in the UK by promoting more live shows and bringing new talent to the scene.
Look forward to seeing you all very soon!!!
Pippa ‘Lethal’ L’Vinn XXXXX”
From down Florida way comes a young woman who wowed PGWA fans in 2004…the one and onlyZip:
“Well wishes? Wow, that’s a wide subject.! I hope everyone tries to get along better in 2006,
and tries their hardest to be the best person they can be, because that’s only going to improve
your life and everyone else’s!
Zip”
Another woman who has made her mark on the minds of many PGWA fans is the indomitableTasha
Simone:
“To all of the many wrestling fans who support the ladies of wrestling, either by loving us,
hating us, loving to hate us, or hating to love us, may your New Year be prosperous and full
of success in any and all of your endeavors.
Blessed Be,
Tasha Simone”
(By the way, we’re sorry to report that Tasha suffered an injury in the ring last month that
looks to have her sidelined for much of the coming year. LadySports Online will have complete
details on this soon!)Here’s a genuine blast from the past, a woman who hung up her boots a decade ago, yet who
remains fondly remembered by more than a few fans. Hailing from Germany come well wishes
from none other thanThundercrackk!:”Have a great 2006 everyone!
Cordially,
Thundercrackk aka Kiki”(Don’t worry, we have plenty of other words from Kiki to share in a LadySports Online
exclusive feature coming soon!)Since we took a trip across the ocean for Kiki, let’s stay in Europe a little longer and hear
from one of England’s emerging young stars,Jennidee:”This year has been so eventful, and most of it took place in the wrestling ring. I have
met so many new people, wrestlers, promoters and fans who have all been so wonderful to
me that I can’t thank them enough, but I’m going to take a crack at it!
People have taken a lot of time out for me this year, and taught many things that made me
a better person and a better wrestler. The people who have given more time than anyone though
are the fans. Their support is endless, and without them I would be no one, so I appreciate
their love and loyalty.
I hope 2006 brings me just as much fun as it did this year, and I’ll get to meet many more
wonderful fans and wrestlers. At the beginning of the New Year I will be going to Dublin,
but I hope by the end of 2006 I’ll be preparing to cross the pond to the U.S.!
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for everything everyone has done for me.
I hope 2006 is as good to you as I hope it is for me. May you and your families have
a fabulous New Year.
Take care & stay safe,
Jennidee”Here are a few words from another European, but this one a woman who moved from her native
Denmark to North America quite a few years ago. I speak of none other thanDesiree Petersen:”Hello to all the fans and competitors…especially the new competitors. I look forward to working
with LadySports in the next year.
To all my friends, have a great and prosperous New Year!
Desiree Petersen”A Canadian born star who wants to share her message with the fans is the incomparableMelissa
Coates:”Happy Holidays to everyone!
I wish the best for all everyone in the new year, fellow wrestlers and fans especially!
Thank you all for supporting women and wrestling…it is a rough business, and it is
good to feel appreciated!
Lots of Love!
Melissa”Another voice from the not-so-distant past comes fromCatt Fanelli, who may be retired from
the ring wars now, but who remains popular with the PGWA fans:”First and foremost I would like the thank the fans for their support, even though I have
been out of the ring for quite a while now.
I would also like to request continued prayers and support for the victims of all of the
Gulf Coast hurricanes survivors and their families. They still have a very long way to
go in their efforts to restore and re-establish their lives.
Please support our troops and their loved ones in what must be a very difficult
holiday season.
What does the next year hold for me? A year from now I will graduate with my Doctor of
Chiropractic. As far as a return to the world of wrestling, we will have to continue
to wait and see.
Best wishes to all and thank you
Catt”Speaking of returning to the ring, we have a message from a formerPGWA Rookie of the Year…
and, we’re happy to report, a recent newlywed:”Hello Everyone!
This coming year I hope to return to the ring stronger than ever before. I have taken a hiatus
for over a year from the ring. I miss everyone very much.
2006 is going to be a great year for me personally, and hopefully professionally. My official
in-ring return will be in January for Brew City Wrestling in Waukesha, Wisconsin!
Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New Year!
Love Always!
Laura Mattano (formerly Mia Martinez)”2006 may just go down in the books as the year in which many talented ladies stepped back
in between the ropes following hiatuses. And one woman whom I’m certain all of us would
love to see back in action isBrittany Brown:”HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of the Wrestling Fans! Without you we’d all be non-existent. Thank you
all and have the Best 2006!
Hoping to be back in the Ring from Knee surgery in mid-2006!!!
Love,
Brittany”LadySports was proud to feature newcomerJosiein a story just days ago, and she returns to
LadySports Online once again to share her holiday message:”I want to send a shout out to all of my fans and all wrestling fans! Happy holidays
to everyone no matter which holiday you choose to celebrate.
I predict 2006 to be my breakout year. While I did see some tough competition in 2005,
I hope ’06 puts me in the ring with the kind of competition that truly tests me.
Happy holidays!
Josie”When one thinks of the holidays, the nameCamron Stardoes not spring immediately to mind.
Nevertheless, Ms. Star INSISTED on contributing a few kind words for us today:”Here’s to 2006… hope you fools continue to come out and despise me. You always ‘boo’
what you don’t understand. But I’m there every weekend, for you. Deal with it.
As for myself, here’s to doing what I always do: making my mark on ladies professional
wrestling, and many more victories to come.”
Camron StarSomeone who definitely hopes to make a big impact on the sport in the coming year is a woman
who can already proudly claim to have held the PGWA belt. I speak of the Ultimate Fighting
Machine herself,Riptide:”May peace, joy, love and giving reign in everyone’s hearts through this holiday time of year…
because when it’s over, I’ll be back to kicking everyone’s ass!
Enjoy it while you got it.
‘Tide”And speaking of former champions, here’s a greeting from the woman who not only held the PGWA
belt first, who not only held it the longest, but who is also the only wrestler to ever hold
it twice!:”I would like to wish my fans a Happy and Healthy New Year.
And I hope this will be the year I regain the PGWA title! Dare to dream big…
only then will dreams be able to come true.
Wishing you all the best,
Susan Tex Green”A revelatory round-up such as this wouldn’t be complete, of course, without the thoughts of the PGWA’s very own Champion, Nikki Roxx:”Well, it’s hard to believe that 2005 is already over, but at least I can say
I had a very productive year. I had so many great opportunities this year…
traveling to Mexico, Japan, and most importantly England where I challenged
Pippa L’Vinn for the Professional Girl’s Wrestling Association’s Championship Belt.
And to my delight, I brought the Championship back home with me! Since winning
the belt, I have proudly defended it to Persephone and Christie Ricci. Both VERY
tough competition. I was happy to walk away with the championship after each match!
Also, while traveling I’ve had the great opportunity in meeting a lot of the LadySports
fans and staying in touch with everyone. I want to thank each and every one of you for
supporting me and Ladysports.com. Without you, we wouldn’t exist.
So, what do we look for in 2006? Well, I know there was a challenge made to me last
time I was in Nashville from Passion. I’m training hard and looking forward to
proving myself once again, and making each and every one of you fans proud.
I wish you all a safe and happy New Year, and I look forward to kicking more ass
in 2006!
Kisses!
Nikki”And last, but most definitely NOT least, here are words of good cheer from thePGWA Commissioner,
who has battles to fight in 2006, but like the champ she has always been, she aims to win them:”I want to thank LadySports for the courtesy and respect you have shown and given to ALL of the
Ladies in Professional Wrestling.
Here’s a toast for and a very successful 2006… HAPPY NEW YEAR!
In addition, I personally wish all of the girls a very safe year… and for myself a victory
over this, the biggest battle of my career.
God Bless our Troops.”
