Pippa L’Vinn organised a great show on Saturday, November the 5th.
The cause of women’s wrestling was well served and the fans were
not disappointed.
The referee for all seven of the matches was Ian Wilson. A man
famed throughout Britain for his fairness and impartiality…
honest!
Match One: Roxi vs SkyePro style single fall match (submission, pinfall or KO),
10 minute duration.
Despite being smaller than Skye, the brunette had the advantage
of being trained by British wrestling legend Klondyke Kate, and
she took the fight to Skye right from the beginning. Within minutes,
Skye found herself on the receiving end of an excruciating Indian
Deathlock. Roxi delighted in the pain she was inflicting
on her foe, but to no avail as Skye refused to submit. This set
the tone for the match as Skye retaliated with a head scissors that
had Roxi in serious trouble.
It was clear that these two were in it for the duration. Roxi,
sensing victory,executed a combined Japanese Strangle and Neckbreaker
that would have destroyed most opponents. But Skye beat the ten
count and, catching Roxi and hooking the legs, took the three count.
We had our first winner of the show!
Match Two: Cassidy vs PippaMat based submissions-only match, 15 minute duration.
Most in the room had not heard of Cassidy before, but as soon as
this ebony beauty (similar in stature to Denise Storm) entered the
ring, she acquired an immediate and appreciative fan club! She
towered over the wily ring veteran. The mat chess then took place.
Pippa had her work cut out for her, keeping Cassidy on the defensive
and trying to avoid Cassidy’s long and strong legs. Pippa won the
match by two submissions to nil, but Cassidy shows great natural ability
and hopefully will stick with the sport and inspire others to try it!
Match Three: Nikita vs ShelbyPro style single fall match (submission,pinfall or KO),
15 minute time limit.
Nikita entered the ring first, dressed in her trademark blue PVC top
and shorts.
To describe this woman as gorgeous is an understatement. Move over
Julia Roberts!!
Then, Shelby entered the ring to rapturous applause from her local fan
following. Beach was dressed in the classic style; black swimsuit;
fishnet tights and black boots. She is one powerful blonde bombshell!
These two women pretty much matched in height and size and wrestling
ability. The match seesawed. Shelby put the pretty brunette in a
Boston Crab, bending her to perfection. It was only Nikita’s tautness
of body that saved her, as she was able to escape the hold from the
powerful blonde. The tables were then turned and it was Shelby in the
Boston Crab and screaming in agony, with the crowd shouting for her to
get to the ropes. If only Nikita had been able to keep her in the centre
of the ring, the match would have ended there and then.
Shelby was clearly riled at coming so close to defeat, and the match
became even more intense. Then to the horror of her fans, Shelby found
herself being clamped in a perfect Sleeper! Taunted by Nikita, it looked
like ‘Goodnight Vienna’ for poor Shelby. But no… the ropes came to her
aid again and the ref broke the hold (God bless him).
Desperate times call for desperate measures, and a low shot had Nikita
crumpled in agony… and earned Shelby her first public warning from the
official. With her opponent still winded by this cheap shot, the blonde
moved in for the kill. One Double Leg Pinfall, and we had our winner…

Match Four: The Black Widow vs VioletPro style single fall match (submission, pinfall or KO),
10 minute duration.
A real David and Goliath match! The Black Widow was led to the ring
by her manager, Dirty Dick, and looking like Klondyke Kate’s prettier
younger, sister!! Most men would be afraid to go in against her, but
yet her opponent was Violet… a young athletic wrestler weighing in at
less than 100 lbs, I would guess. Violet’s wrestling style was very
reminiscent of a young Malia Hosaka, very well-trained and anxious to
mix it up. But the Black Widow proved to be as tough of a challenge
as the youngster could ever handle… and the sound of the corner postings
and chops Violet was subjected to could be heard right across Manchester!
Following outside interference from Dirty Dick, Violet was Power Bombed
and pinned for the three count by the Black Widow. It was the sort of
defeat that could force a change of career, but in the case of Violet we
hope not. A trip to Japan or the States would do a girl like this a
power of good.
Match Five: Cassidy vs ShelbyMat based submissions only match, 15 minute time limit.
This time the two protagonists were evenly matched in size and
weight. Shelby using her weight and pro wrestling experience found
it easier than Pippa to get Cassidy down on the mat. But once down,
Cassidy proved as slippery as an eel! It was clear that Shelby knew
at all costs to steer clear of Cassidy’s python-like legs. The final
score was a win to Shelby at five submissions to nil. The score line
gives no credit to Cassidy, but the consensus of the crowd was that it
was a very close fought Contest, and both girls received great applause
from the audience.
Match Six: Tag team action:The Black Widow & JenniDee vs
Jade & Courtney.Pro style single fall match (submission, pinfall or KO),
10 minute limit.
JenniDee is the Liverpool equivalent of Cindy Rogers – a bad ass
wrestler who believes the sport is all about working over an opponent
in whatever way is necessary to get a win. Pitted against them was
the young team of Jade and the platinum blonde Courtney. Both experienced
wrestlers in their own right. The Black Widow set to work on Jade from
second one of the match. Courtney barely got a look in. The Black Widow and
Jennidee worked in a manner that would of made the Glamour Girls
(Judy Martin and Leilani Kai) proud!
Then some outside interference from Dirty Dick (a manager who makes
Christopher Love look handsome!) results in Jade being pinned by for
the three count. The ref declares the Black Widow and JenniDee the
winners… but the crowd is in a furious uproar about Dirty Dick’s interference,
and the ref overturns the result and declares Jade & Courtney the winners!
And the journey home for Dirty Dick was doubtless a bit of a nightmare, and he
is probably going to be doing the dishes for the next few weeks!
Match Seven: Top of the bill…England vs USA!Pippa L’Vinn vs Simply LusciousPro style single fall match (submission, pinfall or KO), 20 minute limit.
The match we had all been waiting for. Pippa entered ]the ring first, scoring
ten out of ten for appearance and attitude: black swimsuit; fishnets, and boots;
the classic… I mean business… look.
Her opponent is announced, and it is clear that the crowd’s allegiances are
split. Simply Luscious enters the ring clad in her red top and trousers
and displaying a finely honed and tanned torso. Clearly a woman who is no
stranger to the gym. Call me an old fashioned, but hey, I’m sure she’s got
great legs… such a pity she covered them up! Pippa then does what she does
best and intimidates the audience and the ref, but its clear that Simply
Luscious is the consummate professional and is totally unphased by Pippa’s
antics.
They lock up, and we are treated to a technical pro wrestling match
with hold exchanged for hold. Following a Test of Strength, this reporter
is of the opinion that Simply Luscious slightly outgunned Pippa. As we
know, Pippa is not adverse to using underhand tactics, but it was a surprise
to see Simply Luscious match her on this front as well.
It was not long before L’Vinn was stretching that beautiful muscled stomach of
Simply Luscious in a mat-based Abdominal Stretch. It was clear that Pippa
wanted to win this match by verbal submission, and that no other way would do.
But Simply Luscious refused to submit. The tide turned and it was Pippa who
now found herself in a Cross Press, only managing to kick out on the two count.
Simply Luscious went to work weakening her opponent and then using her
superior strength, hoisted her victim onto her shoulders in preparation for
her trade mark finisher, the Acid Drop a.k.a. “The Luscious Landing.” A
second defeat by an American (following her PGWA title loss to Nikki Roxx
earlier this year)… what could Pippa do? Cheat? Most certainly not! Using
her vast experience, she caused Simply Luscious to overbalance, and crashing
to the mat they went!
It was Pippa who then took advantage of the position, grabbing Simply Luscious’s
left leg and going for what the crowd thought was a Single Leg Boston. But Pippa
is more sadistic than that. She modified it, and using her own neck as a bar,
she locked her arms around Simply Luscious’s leg and knee joint. This is a hold
that I have only ever seen in Manga comics and Mexican women’s’ wrestling! The
excruciating pain in Simply Luscious’s back and knee ligament was simply too much,
and the poor girl screamed out in submission. But Pippa just tightened the hold,
demanding that Luscious should submit again. This was sweet revenge against all
American wrestlers, it seems.
The ref was forced to intervene in order to save Simply Luscious from probable
serious… perhaps permanent… injury!
Pippa’s hand was raised in victory as her defeated adversary lay on the canvas
nursing her aching back and leg. If only the clock could be turned back and that
was Nikki Roxx in agony on the canvas, Pippa was no doubt musing. Ah, well… she’ll
have her chance to face Roxx again someday.
An excellent live event that did not fail to live up to its promise to bring fans
the very best in professional and amateur wrestling!
