Although details are sketchy, official word has been given that Nikki Roxx has beaten Pippa L’Vinn for the PGWA Championship!
In this Best of Three Falls Match, defending champ L’Vinn took the first fall, and looked well on her way to retaining her belt yet again. But New England native Nikki came roaring back in the second round, withstanding a barrage of illegal moves from Pippa, and managed to even up the score at one fall apiece.
From the initial reports, the third fall apparently saw the advantage swing back and forth between the two, but in the end, it was Roxx who managed to put her opponent’s shoulders to the mat for the three count.
This match was not without some controversy, however. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that Pippa managed to place her foot on the rope during the referee’s count, but the official either failed to see it, or else chose to ignore it. Suffice to say, we’re quite certain Ms. L’Vinn will have something to say about this in the days ahead.
