PIPPA L'VINN's THUNDERDOME!

SHOW REPORT:

Saturday 25 July 2009 - Live from The Wrestling Factory

by Mark Lockey

Today's Referee: Richard.

Mat Based Contest:
Dynamo v Inferno.

The first match of the day was a Mat Based contest. Crowd favourite
Dynamo took on the debut girl, Inferno.
The bout commenced with Dynamo showing confidence with her mat
skills and comfortable in her surroundings.
Inferno, to her credit, applied her own brand of determination,
thwarting Dynamo's initial advances. Dynamo
constantly encouraged audience response, exchanging banter with
the crowd and with her opponent by exclaiming
"show me what you've got".
A series of leg locks applied by Dynamo were resisted by Inferno,
resulting in Dynamo claiming that Inferno was "double-jointed".
A powerful camel-clutch resulted in the first submission and a
second submission followed with 2 minutes of the contest remaining.
a 3-0 victory was the final outcome of this first match.

Pro Style Contest:
Miss E. Heartbreaker v Shelby Beach.

Next up, a pro style match with a 15 minute duration. Miss E. Heartbreaker
returned from the previous show - Pippas Thunderdome.
This girl is bursting with energy and just loves to wind up
the audience, even refusing a high-five with this humble reporter.
However, Miss E's bubbly entrance was soon shattered by the emergence
of the Blonde Bombshell, Shelby Beach. Crowd pleaser
Shelby as always, paid respect to the audience by greeting
each and every one of us.
She needn't have rushed to the ring as Miss E. had removed
herself from the combat zone and stood outside the ring apron.
Miss E did enter eventually with her self styled t-shirt, very
brief silver trunks with tights underneath.
Shelby took control of the match impressing with a series of
holds and lock-ups. Miss E, though very vocal was put under immense
pressure by her taller opponent. At one stage crying out "I wanna go home!"
Shelby continued with her assault and a 2 count was applied.
Miss E. gradually started to work her way into the match; she forced
Shelby into the ring-posts, though, the Wigan blonde became
more dominant in the latter stages after a spirited response
midway through from Miss E.
A winning pin concluded when one girl was rolled up
for the 3 count.

Mat Based Contest:
Layla v Linx.

Layla whose expertise in these type of matches is unquestioned,
took on Linx; herself returning from the last show.
Layla, perhaps inevitably, started the stonger of the two girls.
She applied some impressive holds from the opening bell.
Linx showed incredible strength and defiance throughout the
duration of the match.
Although a conclusive outcome, the contest itself was much more
even than the scoreline may suggest.

Pro Style Contest:
Roxi v Nikki Storm.

Roxi, followed by April and then show newcomer Nikki Storm
suggested that this would be a 3 way dance match.
In fact, this was a Round Robin rules encounter. Each of the three
girls had been given a number from 1-3 backstage
with 2 separate members of the crowd calling out the 2 individual
numbers that would define the combatants. Roxi would
take on Scotland's Nikki, who has been wrestling professionally for 2 years.
April left the ring and vowed to return later....
In one of the best contests of the day, an extremely fast paced
match developed.
Both girls of similar height treated us to a superb display of
pro style wrestling.
Roxi applied wrist locks which were countered by the spirited Nikki.
Roxi, so experienced in pro style combat for one so
young, started to incorporate clever use of the ring ropes to wear
down her rival.
No quarter was given by both and continuous roll ups by each of
the girls received numerous 2 counts.
Nikki used a spectacular dropkick on Roxi who responded superbly
by climbing back to her feet, almost immediately.
The one pin victory was gained when one of the ladies seized an
opportunity as her opponent was in discussion with the referee.
A brilliant bout, thoroughly enjoyed by all !!

Mat Based Contest:
Dynamo v Venus.

Dynamo returned to the arena with her second Mat Based match of the
event. Her opponent, the stunning Venus. We all know
the qualities that Dynamo possesses but, how would newcomer to the
venue Venus apply herself to this match?
Venus was very elegant in her application and demonstrated great
patience when under pressure.
In one of the most fascinating contests of the show, intense holds
and resistance concluded with a narrow 1 fall victory.
An impressive debut by Venus bearing a resemblance to Nikita/Katie
Lea or perhaps, Jenelle Sinclair.
A very sporting and friendly, respectful match took us to the Interval.

Mat Based Contest:
Layla v Bonnie Belle.

After the interval, bout number 6 unveiled an International contest.
A 10 minute Mat Based match featuring Layla and, from the USA but now
located here in the UK - Bonnie Belle.
This proved to be another intriguing encounter. Bonnie Belle who briefly
appeared at the conclusion of the Manchester
Rocks Rumble, decided to take things a step further and compete in a full
scale match.
Her opponent Layla certainly put Bonnie into a Baptism of Fire full debut.
Bonnie's inexperience was backed up by her immense strength and she looked
very comfortable in her new role. Layla knew she had been in one hell of a
match judging by the perspiration streaming from her.
A one fall victory concluded this enjoyable match.

Pro Style Contest:
Pippa L'Vinn v Stephanie Cooper.

Britain's finest Pippa L'Vinn entered the ring to an appreciative crowd
response. This is the lady who many of us come to see.
She wore a spectacular feathered cloak which she removed, looking in
fantastic shape in a green one piece costume with fish net
tights and boots. Glamourous attire for the gorgeous grappler.
Her opponent, Stephanie Cooper showed no fear as she faced up to her
more exprienced rival.
This may well have been the biggest test of Stephanie's career to date.
Pippa, as confident as ever, strived to take control of her smaller opponent.
Pippa's vast knowledge of holds and counter moves were displayed. Stephanie
on the receiving end of an early 2 count, was in
no mood to bow down though. She proved that she could dish out her own
brand of punishment, whoever her opponent. This was
an even match with, at times, spectacular holds with full use of the ropes
and turnbuckles. It's always a pleasure to witness
Pippa in the ring. She continually digs deep into her vast repertoire of
holds and counter defence situations and never
ceases to impress.
A fantastic display resulted in a one submission victory.

Mat Based Contest:
Inferno v Venus.

The 2 newcomers made their second apearance of the day in this 10 minute
Mat match.
Both ladies were keen to compound their initial debut matches with another
fine display....they certainly did not fail !
A tight, intense affair in which both girls showed much respect to each other.
A friendly and fascinating encounter ended with an appropriate result.

Pro Style Contest:
April v Nikki Storm.

April seemed anxious to get proceedings underway and eagerly awaited
Nikki Storm.
Straight from the off April started to work on Nikki's legs. It
appeared as if her energy level was very high, missing
out on the previous Round Robin match, due to her allocated number
not being called.
Her early dominance was countered by Nikki, resulting in a very fast paced
bout with excellent technical skills used by both wrestlers.
Again, as in her previous match, Nikki delivered her spectacular dropkick -
fantastic to see, being so close to the action.
A single submission concluded this entertaining and electric match.

Main Event : Rumble.
Competitors - April, Miss E. Heartbreaker, Nikki Storm, Stephanie
Cooper, Roxi, Pippa L'Vinn & Shelby Beach.

April locked up with Miss E. to commence the match and were joined by
Nikki Storm who, along with Miss E. was on the receiving
end of some fine moves from April, still bubbling and full of energy
from her earlier match. She was certainly in the ascendancy
and took it to both girls before they were joined next by Stephanie Cooper.
These intriguing matches always deliver as allies
and friendships develop and then, quick as a flash, they're broken down
as each girl ultimately is out for herself.
Roxi joined the action, followed by Pippa L'Vinn and the seventh girl
was Shelby Beach.
A frantic pace was maintained throughout, some girls seemingly forgetting t
hat pins and submissions were to no avail and only
physically removing an opponent from the ring would suffice.
Who would emerge as the ultimate winner in this free for all display of
pro style wrestling ?

Summary:

Yet another top notch show with everything one could ask for. Intense Mat
Based action complemented by fast paced pro. style excitement.
A fantastic effort by all of the ladies who performed today with a
perfect balance of experienced performers along with exciting debuts.
The priveleged audience were treated to wrestling of the highest quality
with beautiful girls in glamorous costumes.
Pippa's shows NEVER fail to impress and Thunderdome was right up there with
along with the best of all of her previous events.
