Ken Spence Teaches Wrestling

Here at LadySports, we are frequently asked to recommend qualified instructors to aspiring wrestlers. There are only a relative handful of trainers whom in our experience have proven to be learned and trustworthy enough to receive our recommendation, and to that short list, we are proud to add another name.

The WWA School of Professional Wrestling in North Carolina has been training students since 1987, and features staff whose experience in the sport goes back to 1975. The head trainers, Ken Spence and the Lumbee Warrior, are well-known throughout the Mid-Atlantic region to those who follow the movers and shakers in pro wrestling. The school specializes not only in instructing wrestlers, but also referees, managers, valets, ring crew and announcers.

But in a business known for braggadocio, the proof comes not in words, but in accomplishments. And among those who cut their teeth and learned their trade in wrestling, you can include such names as Lexie Fyfe, Brandi 'Babydoll' Collins, Holly Michaels, while other ladies who have worked with the school include Susan Green, Leilani Kai, Pippa L’Vinn, Shelby Beach, Christie Ricci, Debbie Combs, Malia Hosaka, Madusa Miceli, and others.

(In the interest of gender fairness, it behooves us to mention that some of the men who have hit the WWA mats over the years include the likes of Matt and Jeff Hardy, Wahoo McDaniel, Hurricane Helms, Dory Funk, Jr., Greg Valentine, Manny Fernandez, Junkyard Dog, Shannon Moore, Pistol Pez Whatley, Ric Converse, Matt Dozier, and many, many others.)

And for you independent promotions in need of rings and PA systems, the school provides rentals!

As any TRUE professional wrestler will tell you, qualified training is all-important to success and safety in the ring…both for you as well as your opponent. And if you’re going to make the effort to become a pro wrestler, why wouldn’t you want to do it right? The WWA School will make certain you learn every aspect of the sport from the ground up!

If you would like more information on becoming part of the greatest sport in the world, and to learn the tricks of the trade from some truly qualified trainers, feel free to contact the WWA School of Professional Wrestling... and tell ‘em LadySports sent you!
