PIPPA SPEAKS!...

PGWA Champion Assesses Her Challenger

A great many people are very impressed with Nikki Roxx, and give her a good chance of winning the PGWA belt this Saturday in Manchester, England.

Pippa L'Vinn isn't one of them.

"Nikki Roxx is traveling 3,000 miles in order to lose," the titleholder tartly said in a recent interview. "I should think she could lose just as easily back home...and I'm certain she does."

"I am not underestimating her, but I know absolutely that I will win. She does not have my skill, nor my experience. Figure in the jet lag, and she'll be lucky to be able walk into the ring under her own power. She certainly won't be leaving under her own power."

What sounds like mere bluster from many wrestlers cannot be written off as braggadocio from a competitor of L'Vinn's caliber. This is, after all, the woman who has beaten Leilani Kai, Lexie Fyfe, Diane Von Hoffman, Shelby Beach, Awesome Anne, Desiree Petersen, and other top shelf challengers.

Yet, there can be no denying that Nikki is a more-than-worthy contender for the title. And she knows a thing or two about winning gold, as she claimed a crown in Mexico's LLF, and kept it despite some crushing competition. However, Pippa doesn't seem overly awed by her rival's credentials.

"Roxx is some sort of a big deal in Mexico, as I understand it. That won't do her any good here. She's used to dealing with high flyers who are jumping all over the place, and she won't have the faintest idea of how to handle my mat grappling."

And the champ may just have something there. Her European-based training is much more rooted in the amateur style than its American counterpart. Such skills allowed Pippa to overcome the greater size and raw strength of many an opponent in the past. However, what L'Vinn may not know is that Nikki has trained rather extensively in mat grappling as well under the tutelage of the legendary "Killer" Kowalski.

But whatever the qualifications of her opponent for this weekend's match, Pippa seems utterly confident that victory will once again be her's. And judging by her words, she's already looking beyond Roxx and envisioning a long future as the PGWA Champion.

"I may very well be beaten for this belt someday...but not today. I absolutely refuse to lose it now. My goal is to hold it at least until one day longer than Susan Green wore it. I will be the greatest wrestler to ever possess the PGWA belt, and Nikki Roxx is not woman enough to deny me that!"

Come Saturday in Manchester, the world will learn if Pippa L'Vinn can back up those bold words.
