PGWA Champion Pippa L'Vinn Sounds Off...

A ROYAL SNUB

Pippa L’Vinn Slams America’s Wrestlers

In anticipation for Pippa L’Vinn’s upcoming live event on Saturday the 23rd in Manchester, England, the PGWA contacted L’Vinn to inquire as to whether or not she intended to defend the PGWA Championship at this show, and if so, were there any American wrestlers she would like us to try and arrange to bring over to face her.

Pippa’s reply, suffice to say, left us all in the PGWA office more than a little slack jawed.

“Don’t bother bringing anyone over,” she wrote. “I sincerely doubt you could find any woman in America who could give me a worthy bout. There are a very few…Kai, Fyfe, Ricci…who are better than the average Yank, but I’ve already beaten them all, and I see no reason why I should have to repeat myself.”

And the champ didn’t stop there.

“I am forever hearing of all of these ‘great’ wrestlers in the States who say they want a crack at me, and who say they would beat me. Well, I’ve left the welcome mat out for three years gone by now, and not a one of them have come to England to challenge me directly. And why is that? Because they’re all cowards.”

A quick transatlantic phone call was made, and the matter was put directly to Pippa: If no worthwhile American girl can travel to Britain, why doesn’t the Champion come to the U.S. instead?

“Because I’m a busy woman,” she snapped. “I am continuously working across the United Kingdom and on the Continent, as well as now being a successful promoter in my own right, and I don’t have the time to drop all of my responsibilities and jet off across the sea to go and beat more Americans. I’ve had to decline numerous invitations to work in Mexico and Japan as well for the same reasons. Really, defeating American girls has become extremely tedious…much like this conversation.” And with that, the line went dead.

The PGWA charter gives the Champion a great deal of autonomy in terms of selecting her opponents, so the organization is unable to demand that Pippa face any specific contender. However, it is the PGWA’s hope that some worthy challenger…be she American, British, or from some other part of the globe…steps forward to face L’Vinn on the 23rd of April. If any title match is sanctioned, LadySports Online will immediately inform fans.
