LADYSPORTS: Welcome to LadySports, Skarlett! When did you first get into the sport?
SKARLETT: Since I was young I had a passion with wrestling, I was a complete tomboy as a child and loved anything that wasn't typically girly... I wanted to climb trees, collect disgusting, crawly things, and I used to watch whatever wrestling was on, whether it be British, American, or independent, it didn't matter. I would make my Barbies wrestle in my toy ring with my Undertaker and Macho Man figures! Then couple of years back, I was a published Alternative Model, and through doing that I made a few great friends who have stayed with me since then. One such friend was a fellow female wrestler, Chrissy Valentine; she talked me into going to a training session to give it a go, and I never looked back! Now I'm excited, because my home fed... Extreme World Wrestling... have a TV show that will be airing in September this year..

LS: Who trained you?
S: I don't really like to discuss the beginning of my training, but everything made sense to me when I started to train with UK veteran, the Dominator (who was trained by World of Sports and WWE star ''Exotic'' Adrian Street). He's a harsh taskmaster sometimes, but under his guidance I have achieved more than I ever thought I could. And he still keeps on pushing.

LS: What was your biggest influence to become a wrestler?
S: I always wanted to do something with my life, and for a while I really didn't know what it was. I had all of this passion and energy to give, but I had nowhere to give it. Me and wrestling just... well, clicked I guess. My inspiration however will always be my mentor/partner and husband, the Dominator.

LS: What other sports do you have an interest in?
S: A few martial arts, football... whatever takes my fancy, really.

LS: How would you describe yourself in terms of attitude, personality and strengths?
S: I'm energetic and kooky, and I'm smart... even though I may not act it. I dance very much to my own rhythm, and I have fun doing so. I'm hard to work out. I'm fiercely loyal to my cause and to my friends. Although my hair colour really does match my temper... .

LS: Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most important in your workout?
S: I like to break my workouts into upper body or lower body, so it depends on what day it is... also lots of cardio, even though I hate it. My trainer will instruct me on wrestling holds, etc. I need to work on, based on performance, to keep me sharp. And he'll always throw some new things into the mix, too.

LS: And how would you best describe your ring style?
S: Unpredictable. I'm fast, and I'm a risk taker... I'd rather hit the top rope than tie up with someone. But that doesn't mean I can't. I like to keep opponents on their toes with a barrage of offence from all angles! I look a little scary sometimes, I guess. I won't go to battle without my war paint or voodoo doll, Moira, and you will never see me in pink and fluffy, or pretty and sparkly... but that doesn't mean I'm not a good guy at heart. I have never taken anyone out if I felt they didn't deserve to hurt.

LS: Did you base your ring style or even your persona on any one particular wrestler?
S: No... and I never will, either. Everyone has their idols and that is essential, but I believe being an individual and not a tribute act for someone else is very important. There's far more to Skarlett than just goth make up and pvc... .

LS: What specific signature moves are you best known for?
S: Axe Kick, Skarlettcunrana (Tope Rope Walk/Huracunrana/Headscissors/Pin combo), Gravedigger (modified Widows Peak), Flip Senton Splash, Top Rope Plancha, Spear, and Spinning Neckbreaker... to name a few.

LS: Have you ever been injured in the ring?
S: Yes, it's one of those inevitable things with wrestling. It will happen. I just came back from fracturing my collar bone. I always bounce back, stronger and faster. You can't keep me down for long.

LS: Since you've begun, have you ever had a "Why am I still doing this" moment?
S: Frequently in my earlier days because of a few idiots... but not so much anymore. I'm glad I saw this through, and I take the good with the bad and learn from it.

LS: Who have been your toughest opponents?
S: Jetta and Marty Scurll, for different reasons, Jetta is pretty much the best British lady wrestler right now, she is always a tall order to beat. We have feuded for a while now. Sure, I've got some wins over her, but she just keeps on coming, relentlessly. And Marty was easily the most naturally talented wrestler I've fought, and tied me up maybe a little too easily at times.

LS: Who are your allies?
S: The Dominator and Moira The Doll.

LS: What has been your most memorable win? A: Beating Marty Scurll and breaking his undefeated streak at Extreme World Wrestling... and thats the other reason they call me the Queen of Extreme!

LS: What was your worst loss?
S: To Jetta: I was expecting another opponent, but instead faced Jetta in my other opponent's mask... you can bet I was pretty steamed when that mask came off!

LS: Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven't yet?
S: British legend Klondyke Kate... it will happen... !

LS: What type of match do you enjoy the most?
S: I'll give anything a go, ladders to hardcore... it doesn't matter to me, I'm pretty versatile. However, don't think you'll ever see me in a 'bra and panties' match. That rubbish is for divas!

LS: What sort of reactions do you get from people when they learn you are a wrestler?
S: They all seem to think it fits pretty well... but we get the odd snide remark. My husband and I aren't your average Joe's when down at the local supermarket: a 20 stone of tattooed muscle-clad guy, and a woman with long red hair and more than her fair share of body art, are gonna stand out, aren't they?

LS: What is so special about this sport to you?
S: Lots of things, really. I'm really thrilled that EWW have been given an opportunity to get British wrestling back on the TV, and I'm thrilled to be such a big part of their growing women's division. The camaraderie of the locker room... I love performing and showcasing my skill... but above all, I love it when kids come up to you after a show, all excited to get a picture and maybe an autograph... knowing that you made their night. That's the important stuff.

LS: What are your fans like?
S: My fans are very diverse and, I guess, surprising. More than just the typical goth teens that I assumed my appeal would stretch to, as I was greatly surprised to be as appreciated by the kids as I am, also the older fans and the mums..the mums just love a kick-ass lady that will put a man back in line!

LS: If you had the power, what one thing would you do to improve the sport?
S: More female workers, please! Hard working ones, who train, and who think creating a positive name for women's wrestling is important. Diva's need not apply!

LS: Where have you wrestled?
S: EWW, LDN, NCW, CHICKFIGHT UK, to list a few.

LS: What are your thoughts on women participating in the sport?
S: I am obviously for it... there are plenty of us girls out there. We just need more opportunities to train and to work.

LS: What was your most unforgettable moment in the ring?
S: There have been so many, but I'll always remember my first matches. Then there was sharing a ring in front of a sold-out crowd during a six man tag team match with hardcore legend, Raven. And there have been injuries, shenanigans... I couldn't pick just one.

LS: Any regrets?
S: Never.

LS: What do you suppose you would be doing if you couldn't be in wrestling?
S: Running a pub somewhere, or more alternative modeling.

LS: If you could have only one more final match, who would you most want to have as your opponent, and why?
S: Easy! I'd face the Dominator. We've been tag team partners a bunch of times, he's saved my ass a few times and I've saved his... we are every bit a dynamic duo. However, it would be great to see if my speed and agility can better his strength, power and technical abilities... just to see who wears the trousers after all.

LS: What is your personal motto?
S: ''Strength, Determination, Merciless... Forever''

LS: What would make you most happy in life?
S: To continue climbing and learning, and to infect the world with Skarlett fever bit by bit... .

LS: Thanks so much for taking the time to talk with us, Skarlett!
S: Anytime.
