LADYSPORTS: Welcome to LadySports, Debbie. When did you first get into the sport?
DEBBIE SHARP: I first got into the sport on 1st time I decided to give it a shot myself.

LS: And who trained you?
DS: I have been trained by Scottish Wrestling Entertainment and also Zero1 – Source Wrestling School.

LS: What was your biggest influence to become a wrestler?
DS: My biggest influence was to prove myself to people who didn’t think I could do it. It has been a lifelong dream.

LS: What other sports do you have an interest in?
DS: I have an interest in horse riding and I am actually quite good at it.

LS: How would you describe yourself in terms of attitude, personality, likes, dislikes, and strengths?
DS: I am a friendly person and I am always willing to help anyone out…providing they don’t have a bad attitude. I like it when things run smoothly!

LS: What is your most marked characteristic as a wrestler?
DS: I think I am known for being cheesy and full of life.

LS: Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most important in your workout?
DS: A typical day training for me would be fueled by porridge and coffee, the session would start with some push-ups, leg raises, squats and lunges in a quick warm up then I will do wrestling related drills to get the cardio up. It is really beneficial! Then I will do wrestling and work on things that I need or want to work on. I think everything in the workout and training is very important.

LS: What moves are you best known for?
DS: As I am still quite new I don’t think I have an established move set, although I do enjoy giving a Monkey Flip, O’Connor Roll and a Downward Spiral.

LS: Have you ever been injured in the ring?
DS: Yes, I have been injured. I slipped doing a Sunset Flip and came down on my shoulder which broke my collar bone. I didn’t find out it was broken though until over a month later and just continued to wrestle. That same injury tore muscles and tendon so lots of physio, ice and painkillers were used.

LS: Who have been your toughest opponents?
DS: I would say all of my opponents have put up a good fight and had a few good covers over me.

LS: What has been your most memorable win?
DS: My most memorable win was against Sammii Jayne a week after losing to her in a ladder match.

LS: What was your worst loss?
DS: Considering the foregoing statement, my worst loss was to Sammii Jayne in the ladder match. The winner received a Scholarship to the Hart Academy in Calgary.

LS: Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven't yet?
DS: I would say Nikki Storm but I have already had the chance to face her! I think she is a great wrestler.

LS: What type of match do you enjoy the most?
DS: I currently enjoy a heated brawl.

LS: What sort of reactions do you get from people when they learn you are a wrestler?
DS: Most people don’t believe me, then say I don’t look like a wrestler, or ask me to show them a move! Generally people are shocked.

LS: What is so special about this sport to you?
DS: I am passionate about the sport as it is an art form and gives you a great stage to perform.

LS: What are your fans like?
DS: My fans are great! I appreciate them all!

LS: Where have you wrestled, and what titles have you held?
DS: I have wrestled for SWE, SWA and the Wrestling Factory. Have not held any title as yet.

LS: What are your thoughts on women participating in the sport?
DS: I encourage women to participate in the sport! I know it’s not easy.

LS: What was your most unforgettable moment in the sport?
DS: Making my debut. I don’t think I will ever forget that!

LS: Any regrets?
DS: I regret breaking my collar bone, but accidents happen!

LS: What would you do if you couldn't be in wrestling?
DS: I would probably be very bored if I wasn’t in wrestling.

LS: What is your personal motto?
DS: I don’t really have a motto, I just want to “be the best I can be”.

LS: What would make you most happy in life?
DS: Achieving my goals and having fun while I do it.

LS: Anything else you'd like to add?
DS: Thank you for the interview!
