SCARLETT ROSE vs SARAH LYNN

Anything you can do, I can do better!

A taunt most often heard in schoolyards, and one generally left behind as adulthood beckons.

But in the world of professional wrestling, the squared circle is not only a modern day gladiator arena, but also, in certain respects, a schoolyard. Punctured egos, raging ambitions and professional envy can all conspire to a war of petty words that quickly escalate into unbridled violence.

Ordinarily, such occurrences are between longtime rivals... wrestlers who have battled one another night after night, developing a personal loathing for each other that spills over into verbal threats and dares. But this particular battle is anything but ordinary, for it features two young women who have never set eyes on each other before.

PGWA favorite Scarlett Rose has steadily built up her reputation as one of the most exciting newcomers in the Midwest. Likewise, Sarah Lynn has emerged as a rising star on the East Coast. And although their paths have never crossed, they inevitably had heard of one another from other wrestlers and fans. Perhaps each even hoped they would find themselves in the same ring someday, just to see if the other’s rep was everything they had heard.

When both girls were booked for "A Banner Night", the PGWA inquired as to whether or not they would be interested in facing one another. Both agreed, and that was that…or so it seemed.

No one is quite certain exactly what happened, but from what we have been able to piece together, one young woman said something a bit catty about the other, and the pro wrestling grapevine relayed that tidbit to the other, who in turn responded with an invective of her own. And so they exchanged taunts via proxy for a time, until they began contacting each other directly by Email.

Trash talking is nothing new in wrestling, to be sure. And ordinarily, wrestlers learn to not let the talk bother them. But maybe Scarlett and Sarah are just hard-wired to dislike one another, because neither could seem to let the insults go.

Both are considered highly skilled ring technicians, a fact each was bragging on. That seemed to lead to a challenging promise from both: each pledged to take her opponent’s measure, and then ‘take her to school’.

In short…anything you can do, I can do better!

It’s an intriguing question, and one which will be answered on November the 15th. Which woman is the better wrestler? Each will claim she is, and they’ll both have their chance to prove it at ‘A Banner Night’…!
