LADYSPORTS: Welcome to LadySports, Amber! Tell us, when did you first get into the sport?
AMBER RODRIGUEZ: June 6th 2010

LS: And who trained you?
AR: I was trained by Gillberg and The Holy Rollers (Earl the Pearl and Ramblin’ Rich) at Gillberg’s Pro Wrestling Academy in Severn, Maryland.

LS: Who have been your biggest inspirations to be a wrestler?
AR: I have so many inspirations! Such as, The Great Muta, Ricky Steamboat, Chris Jericho, Konnan, Bull Nakano, Alundra Blayze, Mickie James etc…

LS: What are you like in the ring, personality-wise?
AR: I’m the same person you see in the streets except I’m wearing spandex! I carry myself with class and sophistication but don’t get me wrong I’m not afraid to break a nail and knock some girls out!

LS: Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most important in your workout?
AR: The most important thing in my workout is cardio and I cannot stress that enough it helps me keep my breathing under control in the ring and helps my agility.

LS: How would you best describe your ring style?
AR: Well, I tend to switch up my ring style depending on my opponent. Typically I’m more of a technical wrestler but, sticking to the same routine doesn’t work with everyone so I’ll have to throw in a few lucha-style moves here and there.

LS: Who have been your toughest opponents to date?
AR: Definitely Amy Lee, I had my first match with her at NWL but I wish we had more time in the ring; I would love to have more matches with her in the near future.

LS: And who have been your biggest allies?
AR: Myself, I always stay guarded and keep my enemies close.

LS: What has been your most memorable win?
AR: When I won the APWA Women’s Championship.

LS: And how about your worst loss?
AR: Jessie Kaye at PCW. I had that match until her body guard got involved!

LS: Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven't yet?
AR: I would love to face Mia Yim! I admire her ring style and her success.

LS: And if you had to retire tomorrow and could have only one more match, who would you most like to wrestle?
AR: Mickie James! I remember watching her and Trish Stratus go at it when I was younger and thinking “that has to be me one day.”

LS: What is your favorite style of match?
AR: I am a huge fan of gauntlet matches! I get to wrestle multiple opponents and I still get the simplicity of a singles match.

LS: Have you ever been injured in the ring?
AR: Luckily, no.

LS: If you had the power, what one thing would you do to improve the sport?
AR: As far as the sport itself goes, I wouldn’t change anything.

LS: Any other sports you enjoy?
AR: I love soccer, baseball, and MMA.

LS: Any regrets?
AR: No regrets, only plans to get better!

LS: What would you do if you couldn't be in wrestling?
AR: Crawl under a rock.

LS: Can you tell us what the one piece of advice you would give to someone just starting out in the sport would be?
AR: Mouth shut. Ears open. Also, to train at a LEGIT wrestling school! Because, there are a lot of snakes that’ll just take someone’s money and tell them what they want to hear.

LS: What is your personal motto?
AR: Never let anyone get in the way of you chasing your dreams!
