April the sixteenth of this year proved to be a seismic shock in the world of women's professional wrestling.
For it was on that day, in Nashville, Tennessee, that one era ended, and another began.
Having repeatedly requested title shots for months, Nemesis was finally granted a match for the belt.
Both the Champion, Tracy Taylor, as well as the PGWA Commissioner, Susan Green, agreed that... in spite of her
well-established rulebreaking... 'Big Mama' Nemesis had established herself as a genuine contender for the crown.
"When I was told of this major event, Big Mama knew that it was her time to shine at last," said Nemesis,
who often slips into the third person when discussing herself... which is by far her favorite subject.
For all of her well-known braggadocio, the challenger wasn't taking this opportunity for granted.
"Tracy Taylor had no idea just who or what was coming for her! I had spent weeks watching every single
one of her matches. I mastered every hold she knew, and learned every counter-hold. By the time we
stepped into the ring together, I knew Taylor better than she knew herself," Nemesis says.
And the Ohio native had a surprise for the Hawaiian champ when she entered into that ring.
"Big Mama has radically changed her workout routine. I am now running harder, training harder,
thinking smarter, and preparing myself in every possible way to be better." That translated into
Nemesis... well-known as a power wrestler... arriving in Nashville having shed a good many pounds.
She may have sacrificed some of her raw strength, but she more than made up for it in added speed
and agility. The physical change also threw Taylor a bit off of her game plan, as she had prepared
herself for a slower, more physical match. With a smug smile, Nemesis adds, "I walked into the
Stadium Inn confident in the fact that Big Mama was going to teach Tracy Taylor a lesson that her own
mama back in Hawaii shoulda taught her."
The fans were in for an added treat, as they learned that this match would also have the WXCW belt
on the line. Tracy had won that title in the summer of 2010, and on the day of the match, Nemesis
had demanded that it also be defended. Confident in her ability to defeat this braggart, Taylor agreed.
A detailed accounting of the match itself will be available here at LadySports soon. As is well known
to fans worldwide, Nemesis stunned Tracy by beating her, and the Ohioan is now both the PGWA and the WXCW champions.
Reflecting on her victory, Nemesis turned unexpectedly respectful of her opponent. "Tracy, I am so
very glad you chose to fight with the grace and respect that all true champions must possess. You gave
it the fight of your life right up until the very end. But it is time now for a new dominating force to
take over in the PGWA, and Big Mama is more than ready and able to throw you off of the mountaintop and
take your place on the peak."
A cocky sneer grows on her face as she concludes with: "PGWA fans, you're about to witness an entirely
new era in women's wrestling, featuring the single most skilled, gifted, intelligent and beautiful
personage in the sport... Big Mama Nemesis. And you're welcome."
