MARIA MONTANA TAKES IT TO THE STREET!

by Shiai Mata

Maria Montana, like any true cowgirl, tries to take life easy, and not let petty things rile her up much. However, she also lives by the code of the West, which demands that a wrong be righted.

And as far as Maria is concerned, Susan Morton has wronged her... and badly.

What started out as a simple rivalry between two professional wrestlers has erupted into a full-scale war between two proud and angry women.

And that animosity has driven Montana to launch a very bitter war of words with Morton, hoping to goad the Tennessee battler into granting her a match. Susan has publicly said she would be willing to face the blond anytime, and she even "invited" her to crash a recent SAW show where Morton was wrestling Brittany Love. Of course, Susan also surely had to know that SAW and the PGWA would make certain that there was more than enough security on hand to keep Maria out of the building. After all, the last thing anyone wants is for these two hellions to go at it in an impromptu brawl!

Well... almost everyone. It's probably safe to assume that if she can't get Morton in a sanctioned match, the cowgirl would be more than happy to throw down with the self-professed Redneck Woman in any alleyway she can find her in.

"I've been calling and e-mailing the PGWA for weeks," Maria says. "I've practically been begging for a match with Morton. They keep telling me they're in talks with her, but she hasn't agreed to sign the contract yet."

Now, tired of playing the waiting game and dancing to Susan's tune, Montana is looking to up the ante and hit the Southerner where it hurts most: her pride.

"I hear tell that Susan has been getting into street fights lately, and that she's supposed to be pretty good," the blond cowgirl continues. "I guess she's been telling everyone she can't be beaten. Well, I've been in a few street fights myself, and I've also been an ultimate fighter, so I can handle myself in a brawl as good as anyone."

"So I've asked the PGWA to make sure Susan hears this message: I'm coming down to Tennessee soon whether she agrees to face me or not. And I'm going to declare myself Queen of the Street Fights, and dare her to prove me wrong! Now we'll see if she can back up her tough talk, or whether she's just a cowardly loudmouth."

A street fight, for those who don't know, is literally little more than a brutal brawl between wrestlers, with as few rules as possible. They also wear the clothes they walked into the building with, rather than their regular ring gear, and clothes can and do often wind up as weapons. While the ultimate objective, of course, is to win the match, the primary means of achieving that is to pound and pummel your opponent as viciously as possible. Viewing such a match is not for the faint of heart.

It only goes to show just how far Maria Montana... a highly-skilled athlete trained in a wide array of technical grappling... will go to get her hands on Susan Morton. The only question now is, will the Redneck Woman accept the Cowgirl's challenge at last?
