LADYSPORTS: Welcome to LadySports, Kurai! Tell us, when did you first get into the sport?
KURAI HIME: I first got into wrestling in March of 2009.

LS: And who trained you?
KH: I've had a mix of trainers including Bobby Hart, Timothy Thatcher, Sir Samurai and Big Ugly JD Bishop. As well as have had clinics with TJ Perkins, Rik Luxury and Sal Thomaselli.

LS: Who have been your biggest inspirations to be a wrestler?
KH: From when I was younger my inspirations were Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. As I got older I got more into the high flying aspect and looked up to the Hardyz and Edge & Christian. Female-wise, I looked up to Lita and Trish Stratus.

LS: What are you like in the ring, personality-wise?
KH: I am a force to be reckoned with. I am strong and tough to break down but I will break my opponents like they are Pocky Sticks.

LS: Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most important in your workout?
KH: A few crossfit workouts to get the blood pumping and afterwards lots of basic drills in the ring. Go through our bumps and rolls and afterwards focus on blow up drills to keep the cardio up. After that, practice matches. Strength is most important in my workout. I am one of the strongest females in NorCal, and I aim to keep it that way.

LS: How would you best describe your ring style?
KH: My ring style is definitely Japanese strong style. Nothing too flashy, but when I do want to show off, everyone had better get out of the way.

LS: Who have been your toughest opponents to date?
KH: That damned Savanah Riley. She's pretty tough for a twig. I have to give it to her, though…she keeps coming back beating after beating.

LS: And who have been your biggest allies?
KH: Brittany Wonder, my fellow Booty of Destruction tag team partner.

LS: What has been your most memorable win?
KH: Ahhh, yes. My most memorable win would have to be when I returned to the ring in February of 2012 at Lucha Rulez 4 for Pro Wrestling Bushido. I beat Savanah Riley and Buggy Nova, although some may now know her as Skyler Moon from WWE NXT, in a triple threat match. I pinned Savanah with a pile driver after I made her push Buggy out of the ring. Hahahaha.

LS: And how about your worst loss?
KH: The one that comes to mind is when Kimmie Shellhammer got lucky and pinned me with a tornado DDT. Afterwards Mitch Valentine thought he would be cute and call out myself, Kimmie, Brittany Wonder and Lucky O'Shea and tell us we belong in the kitchen and not in a ring. Needless to say, I didn't need that after losing.

LS: Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven't yet?
KH: MsChif, LuFisto and Mickie Knuckles. I want a hardcore match with LuFisto and Mickie. And I flat out want to wrestle MsChif. Those are definitely my dream matches. Also Kassie Summers. She's a female from NorCal that I have been wanting to wrestle, but somewhat retired soon after I started training.

LS: And if you had to retire tomorrow and could have only one more match, who would you most like to wrestle?
KH: Hmm, I think I would want to wrestle Ayako Hamada. I love her style, and I think it would really be a great match.

LS: What is your favorite style of match?
KH: My favorite style is the kind that has me in it!

LS: Have you ever been injured in the ring?
KH: No, I haven't. I tend to get injured before the matches and then wrestle injured.

LS: If you had the power, what one thing would you do to improve the sport?
KH: Give women a better reputation. Women get such a bad rap in this sport, it's ridiculous.

LS: Any other sports you enjoy?
KH: Surprisingly, competition cheerleading and gymnastics. Don't judge me! I'll give a Kamikaze Bomb faster than you can say you're sorry.

LS: Any regrets?
KH: Never.

LS: What would you do if you couldn't be in wrestling?
KH: That's not a valid question because I've always been in wrestling. Ask a better one.

LS: Can you tell us what the one piece of advice you would give to someone just starting out in the sport would be?
KH: Yeah, keep your nose clean and stay away from any and all temptations. Focus on your craft and don't let yourself wander.

LS: What is your personal motto?
KH: It's lasted me this long and I don't care how lame anyone may think it is. "Live for the moment." Don't think about the ‘what if’. Just do it. If you're going to look back and regret anything, don't regret the fact that you didn't try in the first place.

LS: And lastly, anything else you'd like to add?
KH: No I think that's it. I've had enough questions for today.

LS: Thanks so much for speaking with us, Kurai!
KH: Yeah, yeah. Do itashimashite I guess.
