A CHAMPION TRIUMPHANT

by The Red Cardinal

We'll have fuller details of this past weekend's WXCW show, including plenty of photos, in the next few days to come. But we didn't want to wait any longer to share information on one participant in particular.

Tracy Taylor came to Nashville to defend her PGWA Championship against Christie Ricci on the show. However, the blonde simply couldn't wait...she challenged Taylor to a GrudgeMatch on Saturday afternoon for the belt; Ricci's intent was to win the title, and to go into the card later that night as the reigning PGWA Champ.

Unfortunately for Christie, her plans were upset when Tracy managed to defeat her in their GrudgeMatch, thus retaining her crown. That left Taylor with no scheduled opponent for later that evening.

As it so happened, Brittney Savage was unable to make the show due to travel delays, and as she was slated to face Tasha Simone for the WXCW belt, that meant that Tasha was now without an opponent as well.

It didn't take a load of bricks to fall on the heads of PGWA and WXCW officials to realize that this had the unexpected potential to be an all-time classic match: Title versus Title, winner take all!

As we said, we'll have more details to come. But in the meantime, please enjoy this photo from Wayne Hackney, Jr. of the first-ever joint PGWA/WXCW Champion... Tracy Taylor!
