INJURIES HOBBLE TWO WRESTLERS

2005 Ends on a Nasty Note For Some...

by Shiai Mata

2005 came to an inauspicious end when separate injuries sidelined two popular PGWA wrestlers.

First, Tasha Simone suffered a severe injury during a match on December the 9th. Says Tasha, "I completely snapped my right ACL, and have been going back and forth to my orthopedic surgeon for the last several weeks. I will soon be setting a date for my reconstructive surgery. The estimated time for my recovery is still as yet unknown, but as of right now, it looks like I will be spending most of 2006 on crutches."

A gloomy prospect, to be sure. But Tasha, well-known for her steely determination, has set her sights on a full recovery. "All of my fans and fellow wrestlers can rest assured that I will be back, better and stronger than ever. In the meantime, I will be focusing on my team of Cruzn' for Pain, and their wrestling careers, until which time I make my return to the ring."

Across the Atlantic, bad luck struck again on Christmas Eve, this time laying low Awesome Anne. "Tripping over the front door stop on my way out to deliver presents, I have dislocated and broken my ankle in a few places. My injury required an operation to put it right, with pins and a plate, but with it being Christmas, the hospital didn't have the staff in the theatre to do it. I have since had the operation, and I am back home with my friends and family."

For Anne, who spent the last few months undergoing cosmetic surgery for her participation on "Extreme Makeover UK," a return trip to the surgeon was NOT a welcome prospect. Even more discontented is the prospect of months of recovery ahead. "I have my leg in plaster, which weighs a ton and looks really glam."

And while she's looking on the bright side, the British Bombshell is also realistically accepting the unhappy truths of her condition. "Things can only get better in the New Year, but it has ruined my wrestling for the time being. They have said it could take six months to repair enough. But enough of the doom and gloom!"

LadySports Online joins with all fans in wishing both of these ladies a speedy and complete recovery.

And we are as one with the fans, we're certain, in hoping that the old superstition about these things coming in three's won't come true this time!
