There's a mystery afoot down in Monterrey these days. In a land where the masked wrestler is literally synonymous with Lucha Libre itself, one cowled woman is standing out from the rest. But not necessarily because of her background or her history, but rather instead because virtually nothing is known about her.

What first attracted the attention of the fans is that this woman, known only as the Golden Girl, is apparently a gringa...a wrestler from the United States. But as to where she precisely hails from, or why she is working down in Mexico, and why she has chosen to wear a mask, there are no reliable answers to be had.

What is known is that she is a phenomenal competitor in the ring, routinely going toe to toe with some of the most accomplished ladies in Lucha Libre Femenil.

Rumors have abounded of late surrounding her. One is that she is actually a very well-known American grappler who, for reasons of her own, has chosen to work behind a mask in Mexico. But so far, this theory hasn't been proven, as every suggested grappler has been ruled out for various reasons.

Another rumor is that the Golden Girl is actually a criminal on the run from the law in the U.S., hiding out in Mexico in plain sight, but with her identity shielded by her mask, but this smack more of some fanciful Hollywood movie than real life.

Some fans have put forth the theory that the Golden Girl is actually a Mexican wrestler who, as part of some huge scheme, is only pretending to be an American. But if so, she seems to have been able to fool everyone.

There are some small snippets of information which we believe we can accept as truthful, things which the Golden Girl herself has let slip in conversation before catching herself and saying nothing more. She has mentioned that her mother was a showgirl in Las Vegas who dreamed of being an actress, but never accomplished that goal. And the mysterious masked woman has hinted that her mother then pushed her into acting at a young age, and that in fact she may well be an actress of some renown under that mask. She has admitted that she lived for a time prior to relocating to Monterrey in Hollywood, California.

But until such time as when more facts become known, unfounded rumors and theories will only continue to swirl around this mysterious grappler. In the meantime, what is an iron clad fact is that the Golden Girl is swiftly becoming one of the most exciting young women in LLF!
