On the evening of Saturday, January 21st the PGWA/Ladysports.com and
USWO joined forces to bring a night of equal rights wrestling to
Nashville, Tennessee. With a card of three mens matches and three
ladies matches, both sexes talents would be equally represented.
The ladies matches were contested under the banner of "Fight Like a Girl"
with the goal of raising money for Breast Cancer Research. USWO's
"First Lady" Miss Rachel beat the "Queen of the Death Match" Mickie
Knuckles; frightening cavewoman Abriella of Amazonia beat Taryn Shay
in a square-off between two of the hottest rookie talents on the
ladies wrestling scene; and "Big Mama" Nemesis defended her PGWA
Championship against OVW mainstay Lady JoJo (aka Josie/Sojo Bolt, the TNA
Knockout), with the assist from her dastardly manager Devious G.
LadySports will shortly be marketing these matches as downloadable videos
and DVDs, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the matches
will be donated to Breast Cancer research, along with the money raised
from the raffling off of a "Fight Like a Girl" T-shirt worn and signed
by all of the female competitors from the evening. The fans in Nashville
dug deep, and the competition for the T-Shirt was stiff! In the end, a
lucky fan walked away with the signed shirt, and a nice donation was
raised for Breast Cancer research.
It was a rousing night of ring action, and a spectacular way for the PGWA
to kick off its 20th anniversary year!
