LadySports ::: ROXIE COTTON

Q & A: ROXIE COTTON

"Don't dream it, be it!"

Much like the decade she so clearly adores and identifies with, the 1980s, Roxie Cotton is entirely unique... in a totally awesome and gnarly way! Perhaps what's most impressive about her is her willingness to get into any ring and FIGHT, regardless of the odds against her. She's taken more than her fair share of lumps, but she just keeps on smiling and comes back for more (if anything, the need to cover up some bruises is just an excuse to go make-up shopping).

Now, LadySports Online is proud to help introduce Ms. Cotton to many more fans around the world!

LADYSPORTS: Roxie, welcome to LadySports! When did you first get into the sport?
ROXIE COTTON: I always watched it growing up, but started doing it in 2001.

LS: Who trained you?
RC: JAPW, PWU, Don Montoya.

LS: What was your biggest influence to become a wrestler?
RC: Undertaker, Golddust, Moolah.

LS: What other sports do you have an interest in?
RC: Ummm...hockey; its violent. But in school I did tennis, track and cross country.

LS: How would you describe yourself in terms of attitude, personality, likes, dislikes, and strengths?
RC: Attitude- positive! Personality- outgoing, mellow, hyper, silly. Likes- Cory Kastle, cooking, baking, shopping, dancing, people that make me laugh and FOOD! Dislikes- cleaning. Strengths- cooking, baking.

LS: What is your most marked characteristic as a wrestler?
RC: Ummm... silly?

LS: Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most important in your workout?
RC: Well, I get sick when I train, so half of it is puking. You think I'd be skinnier. Working out, eat right, get sleep, and don't overwork yourself.

LS: How would you best describe your ring style?
RC: Well, I don't know. I try to work every style, being that I love all kinds of wrestling. I want to be able to work anybody, anywhere, so I guess I'm unpredictable. You never know what kind of match you are going to get out of me...well, hopefully a good one!

LS: What moves are you best known for?
RC: The Cottonmouth (Crossface), Cottonball (Cannonball), Kitchen Sink (not many girls do that!), and the Elbow in the Corner.

LS: Have you ever been injured in the ring?
RC: I hit my head a lot. I jammed my wrist... just don't know when that happened (could have been in the bedroom). I sprained my ankle falling off the steps at a show. I have broken nails, too.

LS: Who have been your toughest opponents?
RC: Mickie Knuckles, Lufisto, Awesome Kong, Annie Social.

LS: And who are your allies?
RC: Annie Social, Cory Kastle, Team New Era.

LS: What has been your most memorable win?
RC: I've won?!? Its so long ago, it feels like. I guess wining the first-ever WSU tag titles with Annie Social was the biggie.

LS: What was your worst loss?
RC: Ummm... any loss is the worst to me.

LS: Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven't yet?
RC: Molly Holly or Gail Kim.

LS: What type of match do you enjoy the most?
RC: Singles and mixed tag... but only if I'm tagging with Cory Kastle!

LS: What sort of reactions do you get from people when they learn you are a wrestler?
RC: "But you are so small... !"

LS: What is so special about this sport to you?
RC: Everything. It's something I have in common with my dad, and now something I have in common with my MAN.

LS: What are your fans like?
RC: I HAVE FANS?!? That's awesome!

LS: If you had the power, what one thing would you do to improve the sport?
RC: Weed out the shits who don't really care about the sport or biz.

LS: Where have you wrestled, and what titles have you held?
RC: JAPW, CZW, IWA-Mid South, WSU, WWW, BLOW, NWA-Anarchy. I've held the WSU tag titles two times, the ACPW women's belt, and right now I'm holding the NEW women's belt.

LS: What are your thoughts on women participating in the sport?
RC: Love it, as long as they love it.

LS: What was your most unforgettable moment in the sport?
RC: Meeting my MAN at a show.

LS: Any regrets?
RC: Nope. Everything caused me to be right here, and I like where I am in my life, and where it's going.

LS: What would you do if you couldn't be in wrestling?
RC: I was supposed to go to school to be a chef... then I didn't go, and went to wrestling school instead.

LS: What is your personal motto?
RC: "Don't dream it, be it!" That's from 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' "Have Fun with your life."

LS: What would make you most happy in life?
RC: Hard to say, 'cause when I get that I'd want something else to make me even more happy. But if I have to choose one thing... well, I've already got him, just waiting on a ring!

LS: Anything else you'd like to add?
RC: I'm famous... Google me!
