LADYSPORTS: Welcome, Connie! Can you tell us, when did you first get into the sport?
CONNIE STEELE: I began training in 2007.

LS: What was your biggest influence to become a wrestler?
CS: My biggest influence to become a wrestler was my Mum, my family and the fact that I have grown up around it all my life.

LS: And who trained you?
CS: I was trained mainly by High Impact Wrestling UK... namely Justin Starr, Phil Powers, Erin Angel and of course my mum, Klondyke Kate.

LS: Being the daughter of a legendary lady wrestler, did you ever feel pressured to follow in mom's bootsteps?
CS: No, because my mum always encouraged me to do exactly what I wanted to do. Which is mainly wanting to be in the acting profession.

LS: And I suppose the flipside of that question would be, do you ever fear that you might not equal or surpass the success she has had?
CS: I don’t think I’ll be in the business as long as my mum, but I would like to make my own mark... but on my own abilities, not on the back of my mother’s name. Also, my style is very different from my mother’s.

LS: How would you describe yourself in terms of attitude, personality, likes, dislikes, and strengths?
CS: I’m a typical teenager and I like my own way in and out of the ring ha ha. I’m very strong-headed, I think I’m an honest person but quite opinionated. I like all the normal things teenagers like... music, dancing, socializing with friends and also a bit of a gym freak. A lot of my time I spent preparing for school exams and my forthcoming college education. I’m passionate about performing arts and I’m always involved in some musical performance etc. I don’t like pretentious people. I love food, especially Indian! I don’t give up on things easily; if there is something I cant do, I keep trying ‘til I get it.

LS: What is your most marked characteristic as a wrestler?
CS: I pick holds and moves very easily, and I won’t give up in the ring. I’m a little fighter!

LS: Describe a typical day of training for you. What is most important in your workout?
CS: I do quite a lot of cardio vascular and strength building exercises. Not one particular thing is important to me, it all is. I focus more on toning than I do cardio. I wrestling train ten hours a week and I do dance sessions several times a week as well.

LS: How would you best describe your ring style?
CS: I’m still building my character in the ring, but I’m quite athletic in the ring.

LS: What moves are you best known for?
CS: Flying Head Scissors and Hurricanrana.

LS: Have you ever been injured in the ring?
CS: Yes... I have had a right knee injury whilst in one of my first matches.

LS: Who has been your toughest opponent?
CS: A raging little pitbull wrestler called Leigh Degree.

LS: Who are your allies?
CS: Erin Angel, Lisa Fury and Minx.

LS: What has been your most memorable win?
CS: In a mixed tag match, with me and Robbie Carter against Leigh Degree and Matt Hunter.

LS: What was your worst loss?
CS: Nothing in particular. If I lose, I lose.

LS: Have you had any “Why am I still doing this?” moments?
CS: No, not yet... I am still really enjoying doing it!

LS: Who is the one wrestler you would most like to face in the ring, but haven't yet?
CS: I would love to face Taylor Wilde from TNA.

LS: If you had to retire tomorrow, who's the one person in the world you'd most like to have your final match against?
CS: My mum, Klondyke Kate... and beat her, of course!

LS: What type of match do you enjoy the most?
CS: Mixed tag matches.

LS: What sort of reactions do you get from people when they learn you are a wrestler?
CS: They normally say, ‘You can’t be a wrestler, you’re too small!’ But when I finally convince them they think It’s awesome, and don’t stop asking questions!

LS: What is so special about this sport to you?
CS: It’s just something I have grown up with all my life, and I love the wrestling community. Wrestlers are wonderful, charismatic people to be around.

LS: What are your fans like?
CS: Wonderfully loyal.

LS: If you had the power, what one thing would you do to improve the sport?
CS: Make WWE respect women more and not give them silly story lines, especially the ones who really are talented.

LS: What are your thoughts on women participating in the sport?
CS: What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Women can kick ass just as good as the men can.

LS: What's the single best piece of advice you've received by a wrestler?
CS: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

LS: Any regrets?
CS: No, not yet.

LS: What would you do if you couldn't be in wrestling?
CS: Doing the same as what I’m doing now, try to get a break in the acting business.

LS: What is your personal motto?
CS: Never give up!

LS: What would make you most happy in life?
CS: Performing for an audience.
