HOW I WOULD BEAT THE CHAMP

By Shiai Mata

As Nikki Roxx approaches her second straight year as the PGWA Champion, we here at LadySports Online thought it would be fitting to ask some of the other top ladies in the sport what their own thoughts are on the possibility of beating the Champ and ending her title reign. Not surprisingly, each of the women we contacted expressed confidence that she could beat Roxx, if and when she gets the chance (or, in some cases, another chance, as they've already faced Nikki before). As you will see, there's quite a bit of bravado and braggadocio on display here. But never forget one iron-clad fact: Every champion is unbeatable... until she is beaten. Somewhere in the world, there is a woman who will take the belt away from Nikki Roxx someday. We don't know who or when... but we do know that all of the following women would very much like to be the wrestler who accomplishes that, and all of them are confident they will be.

JOSIE: How would I beat Nikki Roxx is the question. Easy. It wouldn't be a roll-up or any of my many submissions. I truly believe I would have to have an all-out, bare knuckle brawl and knock her ass out. So when I pin her for the 1-2-3, there will be no question why or how did this happen. I will stand victorious over my opponent and with that, a message will be sent. That message to all who would challenge me: You will need to beat me within an inch of my life to get this title, because I have no intentions of letting you walk away with my gold.

THE BARONESS SIMONE (via Interpreter): How would I beat Nikki Roxx? The real question is, how many ways can I beat her? She is strong, but I am stronger, so perhaps I will wrap my arms around her in a bearhug, or scissor her with my legs, until she passes out from the crushing agony. But she is also a skilled mat grappler, yet I am far more skilled. I can tie her up with holds, work her joints and spine and neck, until she's howling her surrender. And, of course, she is a highly accomplished technician, but it goes without saying that she pales before me. I can slam her so hard, the ring will threaten to collapse, then toss her around like a rag doll. When I'm finally bored with obliterating her, I will cover her for the three... no, better yet, make that TEN count, and I will return the PGWA title to Europe, where it belongs.

HAILEY HATRED: How I would beat the Champ? It's the million dollar question, isn't it? Well, I, of course, wouldn't tell *all* of my secrets, but I can let you in on a few. Nikki is extremely versatile -- she can meet any style, and a lot of time, beat you with your own style. Really, size or strength doesn't matter when you wrestle Nikki, because she can adapt so well to it all. If I were looking to take Nikki's gold, I'd keep her down... I wouldn't look to cheating, I wouldn't care about showing off aerial moves, I don't even think I'd look at using suplexes... I would just keep her down on the mat, try to take out her legs possibly, and work on her with submissions. She would eventually have to give up from the pain, and it wouldn't matter how long this match would take, as long as in the end, she would submit... the most humiliating way to lose any match, especially a championship.

21st CENTURY FOX: Nikki Roxx... more like Nikki Suxx. The only reason Nikki Ross is the champ is because she hasn't faced me yet. I'm the best export coming out of Canada. Not since the likes of Bret Hart have people seen an amazing Canadian wrestler like me! You know, a couple years back, Nikki and I were supposed to go one-on-one for another company and she had to back out. The only reason she backed out was because she knew she had to face me... and quite frankly, I don't blame her, 'cause if I was her, I'd have backed out too! Nikki, hold on to that PGWA Championship belt with both hands, and keep both eyes wide open, 'cause the next time you blink, it'll be gone and it'll be around my waist!

MICKIE KNUCKLES: I would beat Nikki by slowly breaking her down. I would take away her base, then strain her weaknesses. Basically, my strategy would be a grapple/strong style approach. It's what I do best.

CAMRON STAR: You ask, 'How would I beat Nikki Roxx?' I'm sure you'll also add, "with a baseball bat" isn't an appropriate answer.

Well, fine. My plan is simply this: Patience and getting inside her head. Let her think she'd got it. I can go to the mat with her. No problem. Let her run herself silly. Then, when she stops to breath... STRIKE! Take her down. With suplexes and a few surprises... don't expect me to give all that away to you. Now, granted, I'm sure sometime during that she would find her strength again... but no amount of push-ups or fans cheering for her could stop me. Again, let her believe and wait. Just when she charges, I'll save my most devastating strike for the last. And then, cover her for the 1-2-3, and become the new PGWA Champion. And that. Would be. AWESOME.

PORTIA PEREZ: How would I beat the champion? How would I, Portia Perez, beat Nikki Roxx? I think a more accurate question would be 'how DID I beat Nikki Roxx?' You see, Nikki Roxx is a lot of things. Nikki Roxx is an amazing athlete, a great wrestler, and an excellent champion, but you're all forgetting one thing; I am an International Superstar. And when the time is right, I'll step in to the ring with Nikki Roxx again. The match will no doubt be one of my toughest, but when it's all said and done, the result will be the same – Portia Perez has Nikki Roxx's number – and it's #2, right behind me.

TASHA SIMONE: I don't want anyone to misunderstand what I am about to say, so please put on your bifocals if you need them, and read these words very carefully. The offices of the PGWA have contacted myself and several other ladies, I am sure, requesting our thoughts on how we would beat Nikki Roxx for the PGWA title if given the opportunity. I, however, will not be talking about how I would beat the Champ. This is all about how I WILL BEAT NIKKI ROXX!!! A title belt is not meant to make a wrestler more notable, or more important; a wrestler should carry the belt, and represent the PGWA each time they step in the ring... they should not wait to be asked to defend their belt, but rather approach the PGWA about making title defenses against worthwhile opponents every chance they get. And for these reasons, the belt needs to be back on a veteran. It would seem that Nikki Roxx has many irons in the fire, distracting her from representing the PGWA as she should, so the truth is I will be doing her a favor by taking the belt off her hands. I will beat Nikki Roxx to become the PGWA Champion as soon as the offices of the PGWA have the guts to book the match, and I will do so by any means necessary, for the aforementioned reasons. What does that mean? If I have to out-wrestle Nikki, I will! If I have to out-brawl Nikki, I will! No matter what, I WILL become the champion, and until I do I will continue to steamroll through every single wrestler that the PGWA puts before me. Because as I have already stated, most women will not be as tough as MsChif, and I really don't have the heart to care if they are not that tough. So to quote my favorite ECW alum, Tazz, all of my opponents will be "just another victim"... until I become the new PGWA Champion!
