WAR OF WORDS FOLLOWS TITLE MATCH

Mia Svensson and Lei D Tapa have something to say...

 

Saturday, January the 20th saw a real shocker in Mt. Airy, North Carolina.  On that night, 
before a capacity crowd, the AIWF Women’s Championship changed hands... or make that waists... 
from Lei D Tapa to Mia Svensson.

 

These two superlative athletes had been feuding for months, and there was a sense in 
the air prior to the match that this battle was being fought to try and settle their 
war once and for all.  Certainly, Lei would have liked nothing more than to put an 
end to Mia’s efforts to relieve her of the belt, while Svensson had undoubtedly been 
dreaming of claiming that ten pounds of leather and gold as her own.

 

After the match was over and the dust had settled, both wrestlers had words to share 
to the press... 

 

Meeting with reporters in a post-match press conference, Svensson was quoted as saying, 
"It was a hard-earned win.  Lei D Tapa was a strong champion and a formidable opponent.  
She's amazingly strong.  For a while there, I started to have doubts about whether or 
not I could defeat her. But the fans got behind me, and I fed off their energy, and 
managed to get fired up and have a strong comeback."

 

She continued:  "This battle evolved into so much more... blood, sweat and tears went 
into this match.  In the end, I wouldn't give up.  And I feel that's what pushed me to 
beat the much larger and stronger Lei.  I worked hard for this win.  But I know I’ll have 
to work harder to keep this belt around my waist.  True story."

 

Tapa refused to speak with the media following the match, but several days later made the 
following statement to an inquiring reporter:   "I'm still in shock!  Everyone knows who 
should have won the AIWF Women’s Championship title... ME, Lei D Tapa, queen of the ring!  
Mia Svensson is a joke!  I mean, really, her as AIWF champ???  Please!"

 

"I dominated the whole match, and then all of a sudden the ref distracts me and Mia wins?!?" 
she added incredulously.  "I want a rematch!  That red headed no-good ref didn't know what 
he was doing!"

 

Before hanging up, Lei said, "I'm done talking!  All I’ve gotta say is: Rematch!  So tell
Mia Svensson I'll see her soon, and when I do, I promise I will finish her quick and get 
back what belongs to me... the AIWF Women’s Championship Title!"
